Spoon Optional: Healthy Sippable Soups

Savor Every Last Sip.

Have you ever been standing in front of your fridge hungry, wondering what you could throw together in minutes, hoping something would magically appear?  We know that life doesn’t seem to slow down and finding time to prepare healthy meals and snacks can prove to be challenging!  We always set out with the best of intentions at the beginning of the week, maybe even prepping a couple meals.  By the end of the week, life has gotten in the way and finding the time to plan, shop and prepare a healthy meal has fallen low on the list.  In our search for nutritional options for those always on-the-go, we discovered Spoon Optional.  We were instantly hooked!  Spoon Optional is a local company that was developed on the foundations of honesty, transparency and authenticity.  They bring healthy AND convenient together with their fresh, organic, sippable soups.  Their tasty flavors left us enjoying Every. Last. Sip.

Here are some of the top reasons we LOVE Spoon Optional:

  • Spoon Optional sippable soups are organic, vegan and gluten-free.
  • Spoon Optional soups are made fresh every week with real, recognizable, whole ingredients. They believe that if you can’t pronounce it, you shouldn’t be eating it. End of story.
  • They think of nourishment as the intersection of healthy eating and comfort. They just take it a step further to create convenient nourishment.
  • Spoon Optional sippable soups rotate seasonally with 13 total varieties in our colorful spectrum.

Yes, this is the convenient refuel that can keep pace with everyday life.  If you haven’t had an opportunity to try their tasty sippable soups, Spoon Optional will be at the studio on Saturday, Jan 28th, sampling their latest varieties.  You can order online and also find them at a variety of local co-ops.

We are also THRILLED to share that Spoon Optional is extending a 20% discount to all Haute Barre followers through February 5th!  Just enter the code “HAUTIES” upon check out to receive this exclusive offer!!

Cheers to a nutritious AND delicious sippable soup!

Karma Stacks

Karma Stacks

As many of you know, Jeanna, our inspiring social media manager and prominent blogger, was diagnosed with colon cancer back in September. She had surgery to remove part of her colon, several lymph nodes and uterus. After surgery, she was staged at 3B.  She has started chemo and is inspiring us every day with her strength and uplifting energy.

Onto the fun part. For months Jeanna’s been in love with the stretchy beaded bracelets, especially then ones made of unique stones. She has turned her obsession into more of an inspiration to do good (and keep her busy during my chemo treatments). She has launched Karma Stacks and they are available for purchase at the studio.

Karma Stacks is built on a simple foundation: Spread good karma and do it often.

When you do good you feel good and it just as the saying goes “what goes around comes around” rings true when you believe in it.

Each piece from Karma Stacks is handmade with high quality stones and products. Every single bracelet is created with unique stones that offer you compassion and peace, protection and healing, nourishment and unconditional love. The intention is that when you purchase from Karma Stacks that you will be reminded to love yourself, love others and spread positivity into the universe.

Plus, a portion of all sales is donated to support the Pinky Swear Foundation, which helps families with children battling cancer. Remember, when you do good, you feel good!

Stop into the studio to the studio or email jeanna at jeanna@fiercelyfetching.com for more information! You can also learn more on her blog, Fiercely Fetching.  Spread karma!

Haute Student of the Month: Kristen

Each month we talk with one of our students so they can share their experience with others.  This month we’re chatting with Kristen.

What do you love about Haute Barre?

The fact that I am always challenged and never bored with the workout.  The instructors are outstanding – always inspiring and motivating.  The overall vibe of the studio is warm and welcoming.  The familiar faces in classes.

What’s the biggest change you’ve noticed?

Increased strength and tone in leg muscles.

What part of class do you love to hate?

Using the blue bands for resistance while doing exercises laying on our side. So painful but effective.  Also, holding onto the barre with both hands and repeatedly squatting all the way down and then “halfway up.” I usually curse to myself when I hear those words.

What advice would you give to someone coming to HB for the first time?

Don’t compare yourself to others, and know there are many ways to modify if something doesn’t feel good.  Stick with classes and you will be amazed to see a difference in time.  Try to embrace the shake and hang in there.

What motivates you to come to class?

The music, positive energy of the instructors, seeing friends who attend class, and the awesome feeling I have when class is finished.
