Each month we talk with one of our students so they can share their experience with others. This month we’re chatting with Jana.
What do you love about Haute Barre?
I love the class styles and the instructors, but I also love the community. I have made many friends at Haute Barre who support me in both the studio and in my daily life. They keep a smile on my face even during the toughest workouts.
What’s the biggest change you’ve noticed?
The muscle definition in my shoulders and back continue to surprise me. My cardio endurance has also improved from the Haute Shake-It Fusion and Barre Boxing class formats.
What part of class do you love to hate?
The “Up-Down” sequence with burpees that is repeated four times in Jarod’s boxing class. Enough said.
What advice would you give to someone coming to Haute Barre for the first time?
Make sure to try different class styles and different instructors. Every class and instructor is unique, and your body will benefit from the variety of options and techniques.
What motivates you to come to class?
I feel so much stronger both physically and mentally since I became a Haute Barre member 4 years ago. That combined with Monday night nachos at Rojo keep me committed to my classes.
What’s your favorite fall activity?
Hiking around Lake Superior and rewarding myself with red wine around the campfire.
